Our weekend was filled with decorating halls, running back and forth, hoping for good weather, and managing innumerable details for a family wedding.
At wedding time, the sun broke through the clouds, the bride was stunning, and the celebration was joyful! Sunday morning brought the chore of sifting through boxes of wilted flowers, broken vases, leftover beer pitchers and locating owners of various cell phones.
Finally, Sunday afternoon, the patio served as a quiet respite from the frenzy. J Vineyards & Winery Brut Rose' was my choice to accompany the gathering. This graceful bottle was well-suited to the elegant events of the weekend and the festive bubbles helped to keep the celebration going.
J Winery combines 69% Pinot Noir, 29% Chardonnay and 2% Pinot Meunier to create a delicate, shimmering golden-pink hue, a perfect mimic of the bride's colors. Aromas of luscious strawberry and cherry are supported by yeasty biscuit and streams of vigorous bubbles.
The fresh and lively palate brings sweet cherry flavors along with almond and orange peel. A zing of citrus on the finish keeps it bright and engaging.
The wine is energetic and "flamboyant" (Wine Spectator) yet remains demure and elegant--much like our bride.
The J Vineyards and Winery Brut Rose' brought a relaxing end to a wonderful joy-filled weekend.
